Mars Lander Detects Snow

Bundle up before heading out to Mars this week. NASA predicts snow. :)

Actually, they have seen it from the Phoenix Mars Lander. It’s not known if the snow actually reaches the ground. Mars is very dry, so it possibly sublimates before getting that far. They also can’t confirm that it is water-based snow. It probably is, however, as the lander has already found quite a bit of evidence of water interaction in the soil.
